Elite Road Cycling Returns to the UK for the Men's Tour of Britain

The 2025 Tour of Britain Women delivered high drama, emotional moments, and emerging talent; a resounding success for women’s cycling in the UK. As a thrilling showcase of strategy, grit and emerging stars, it has become the highlight of Britain’s cycling season. And as the UK’s only UCI Women’s WorldTour race this year, the event reaffirmed Britain’s vital role in the global women’s peloton, especially amid uncertainty around other domestic races. With 19 teams and 110 riders, turnout and quality made it a standout success.

In June, the roads between Dalby Forest in the glorious North York Moors National Park, and Redcar near Middlesborough were packed with spectators hoping to catch a glimpse of the stars taking part in the Women's Tour of Britain road race. Stage 2 started in Hartlepool and included a challenging finish at Saltburn Bank, a 300-meter, 15% climb. 2025 marked the first time the Women's Tour of Britain visited Scotland. Stage 3 was a loop around Kelso in the Scottish Borders, featuring climbs around the Eildon Hills. Stage 4 was a city center circuit race in Glasgow, covering 10 laps of an 8.4 km route that incorporated landmarks and technical turns.

This has set the stage for a bold return of the men’s race in September, promising fierce competition, scenic routes and a heartfelt farewell to Geraint Thomas.

Expect the roads from Suffolk to Cardiff to roar once more with elite action and community spirit as Britain’s premier stage races take over the autumn calendar.
