    Summary

Saddle up and experience one of Scotland’s most thrilling gravel biking adventures in an incredible-picturesque part of the Scottish Highlands. Winding through the breath-taking landscapes of the Trossachs National Park and Highland Perthshire, this route blends rugged terrain, ancient forests and serene lochs, showcasing the very best of Scotland’s untamed beauty – all steeped in the legendary tales of the Scottish folk hero, Rob Roy MacGregor.

This 170 to 250 mile route (our extended version of the 80-mile official Rob Roy Way) makes for a perfect gravel biking holiday or easy-going mountain biking tour through the Trossachs and Highland Perthshire. This unique biking route follows ancient drove roads, purpose-built cycle paths, deserted country singletrack roads, stunning riverside trails and 4x4 tracks. From the banks of Loch Lomond you ride deep into the majestic hills of Highland Perthshire and finish in the gorgeous town of Pitlochry, where you can extend the trip for another day, if you wish to spend a couple of nights in the heart of the Highlands. This route is on the more challenging end of gravel riding, with more off road, more climbs and more remote trails, so if you would prefer an easier ride then perhaps consider our shorter Rob Roy Way trip.
